October 2007-present: Teacher two days a week at Bright Horizons Child Care Center inside Letterman Digital Arts Center, San Francisco. Work with children of all ages from infants to pre-kindergartners. Main activities: performing music, teaching Spanish and cooking.
October 2007-June 2008: Title I remedial reading teacher at Mission Dolores Catholic School, San Francisco. Taught small classes in self-contained classroom three days a week for grades 1 through 5.
January 2007-May 2007: Student teacher at Presidio Middle School, San Francisco. Worked in the classroom four days a week, teaching many lessons and assisting the teacher with others. Subjects: 6th-grade language arts and social studies, 8th-grade American history, 8th-grade science, 8th-grade algebra, Pitman shorthand, cooking.
September-December 2006: Participant/observer in kindergarten and 3rd grade classes two days a week at Spring Valley Elementary School, San Francisco. Assisted the teachers, taught some lessons, worked with small groups, supervised playground, attended field trips, performed music.
September 2003-May 2006: After-school teacher for kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades at Alvarado Elementary School's Excel after-school program, approximately 18 hours per week throughout the school year. Helped with homework, supervised playground, taught prepared lessons for 20 to 60 students per day. Subjects included computers, literacy, math games, music, cooking, crafts, storytelling, field trips.
June-August 2004: Curriculum resource teacher for Cameron House's Bilingual Youth Program, San Francisco. Wrote academic lessons for 1st through 8th grade; planned and attended field trips; taught crafts and music.
June-September 2003: Teacher at Littlest Angel Preparatory Preschool, San Francisco. Co-supervised and taught about 30 children age 3 to 5.
September 2002-May 2003: Enrichment instructor for 20 hours a week at Spring Valley Elementary School, San Francisco. In charge of 16 children in 1st grade.
